I just bought the Jardine cat back because my factory one has rusted out.

I'm in the market for a new exhaust, specifically the Jardine system. Let me know how you like it

spintech because its quiet with a growl and its not too "ricey" sounding.
the Jardine exhaust sounds sweet ive seen that youtube video with the guy and the green SC runner. perrrrrty neat! congrats on that man!

What's the advantage of running one of these cat back systems vs a new muffler and bigger tubing?

The Jardine he has uses 2.5" mandrel bent tubing.
Even if an exhaust shop crush bends 3" tube it will not flow as well as even a 2.25" mandrel bent exhaust.

You loose up to 30% of flow with a crush bent exhaust.

So if a shop mandrel bent your tubes it would be the exact same thing? Would it be cheaper to just have a shop do this.

A shop would have to have a mandrel bending machine and they could do it for you. That would be the question to ask when selecting a shop. The Jardine is so cheap I doubt a shop can even beat that price. I think it was like 279 at URD.

magnaflow 18'' on stock pipes since there the right size and in good shape muffler flows alot better than the stocker sounds great not to loud but it will let you know its there if you want it too

What's crazy is that I am in Toledo, Ohio and you are in Toledo, Oregon

i too have the 18" magnaflow with a turn down...i went with magnaflow because its a straight through design with packing no baffles imo it sounds different than the flows but its all a matter of opinion.

its in my sig, but dynomax muffler with stock pipes for offroading and jardine for street. My first time wheeling with my jardine cat back i barely kissed a rock and its put a little scratch in my exhaust. Usually I dont get upset with scratches but i flipped shit over that cause my jardine was so pretty and perfect and I scratched it :cursin:  At first I would just swap them out when I would get back from the mountains but one day, I guess I was just paying more attention, I noticed a decrease in low end torque when I put the jardine back on. Later I discovered that theres not enough back pressure with the jardine, thus robbing some low end torque. I also have a brand new set of Thorley-Jardine headers sitting in my garage, collecting dust because they would worsen the problem and they're a pain in the ass to install. So Im just waiting for my supercharger to finally come in to install the full exhaust system, but until then, I'll just have to deal with the lame ass sound of that dynomax

ha im trying to figure out how you switch your exhaust just like that! does the jardine just bolt on? anyway ya that exhaust should show better performance after you get your supercharger on. i think the headers should help out too.
I think a lot of us have talked about the pipe issue in some other threads but ya the muffler guy told me the stock pipes are some wierd name bend which is better than what their machine can do. I think with bigger piping it will mess up your back pressure unless your runnin a turbo or sc too.
