What have you guys done with your fog lights?

I'm curious to what mods some of you have made to your fogs..

I haven't really seen many 4runners out there with fog light mods...

Has anyone changed the amber bulbs to yellow (the amber bulbs that are always on)? Changed the fogs to yellow HIDs? Just curious..

Haven't seen anyone change the DRL lights to yellow, not sure if it would be worth it considering the low light output that they have. However, I could be wrong.

As far as the yellow HIDs, I think there are alot of guys that run yellow fogs. It is mostly up to personal preference and what type of look you're going for. i.e. functionality vs street appeal. If you want functionality and are often driving through dense fog, snow, rain, then you would definitely want the yellow HIDs. If that is not a priority or major concern of yours, then go with a different color for the fogs.

Personally, I wanted a "true" white or near bright white, not the blue-ish hue or a yellow color, so I went with the 5000K bulbs. I like them, but wish they matched a little better with my low beams. I'll get over it and they're still great, glad I have em.

Different year than what you're talking about ('07), but I run 5000k (bright white/blue) in the low beam, and 3000k (yellow) in the fogs, and I love them. Looks sweet in my opinion.

i have yellow 3000k hids, i dont even use it anymore since the true hid projector retrofit i did is bright, osram 66240 cool blue intense ($200+ 5000k) on 50w ballast is sex to me.

I have been looking into how to mount a set I'm thinking I like the idea of putting 2 Piaa 520's on top of the bumper mounting them below the bumper puts them in harms way but better for the sight of others.

Is it just me or is the last picture MS paint'd? It looks like as if someone added two separate lights on the grill. Not that it's a bad thing, it looks sick! That obviously attracted my attention quickly but as I looked at the rest of the picture, I saw filters being added (white covering the background). I really hope that's a real picture of a 4R with those lights installed on the grill. It looks like it has a pair of factory fog lights & something else (it almost looks like a 3rd gen turn signal light). If anyone has a similar setup like that, take night pictures!!! I want something simple like that!!

I really like this front end !

So if I really want top quality fog/snow penetration it is my understanding that the amber light does that best. Assuming that is so; what is the best amber fog replacement? Hella amber bulbs?

its a westin bull bar! I run 3000k HID fogs from DDM Tuning, love them, and really do penetrate well on nasty nights.

I have an 04. Until I can afford some rigid light bars which i will mount in the lower front grill, I bought some sylvania ultras 9005, which is the bulb for the brights. Definetley brighter than the 9006. I had to shave off some plastic from the female part of the bulb to make it fit.

I have installed clear bulbs for drl/turn instead of amber.
Maybe I will install yellow bulbs for fog after installing projector hid in my headlights.

Sorry for the throwback question but how do you adjust/aim the stock fog lights? I crawled under but see no screws or adjustment points. I have one light that points about 4' lower than the other and would like to even them out.

(I got to this thread through a search but nothing else came up directly related to my question)
