What is my 4th gen worth?

Sorry for anther one of these threads but I'm considering the sale of my car to upgrade to a 4x4 4th gen. It is an 07 Sr5 2wd with 139xxx miles, very well maintained and tastefully modified. It has new struts and a 3/2 spacer lift with 275/70/17 ko2s with 15k miles on them and 17x9 pro comp steelies, custom satoshi, 30 light bar and 2 cubes in the front fog locations. Very well maintained read diff fluid and tranny fluid changed around 125k miles and only been off-road a handful of times (less than 5). So my questions are, what is it worth with mods? And what is it worth if I stripped it and put it back to stock with the assumption that I can find a set of wheels and tires for ~$250? Can I get $13k for it? This is a North Carolina car with no rust, no accidents, very clean inside and out.

I have a stock grill I could replace the satoshi with, all mud flaps, fog lights and Lower valence so going back to stock is easy, but I also have fj coils and 5100s coming my way from a friend soon so I'm not really apposed to leaving them on the vehicle.

Good question...

I notice that these 4Runners do typically sell for above KBB and they do command a premium over many comparable mid-size SUVs. It also depends in what part of the country you are.

My own opinion is that $13K sounds a little steep, but I think it would fetch between $11-12k. It wouldn't hurt to try though!

While I'm all about doing mods to my vehicles to add value for my personal use model, I don't value other people's mods in the same way when I'm shopping for a different vehicle. (The exception might be an accessory such as a winch which is more of an add-on, not a modification)

The reason: I trust Toyota's engineering and manufacturing processes much more than I trust modifications by the aftermarket and previous owners. So, I'd rather have a stock vehicle and modify it myself than buy someone else's mods.

That's a long way of saying that to me, your mods don't add much extra value, no matter how well done they are (and they do look really good). I would recommend putting it back to stock and selling it as such if possible, and selling the modification parts separately.

Another aspect is that a modified vehicle actually narrows the market. Most people looking for an '07 2wd are looking for a reliable street vehicle and wouldn't know what to do with the mods anyway.

That being said, $13K sounds reasonable for a stock '07 2wd with 140,000 miles, based on my buying experience in the Denver area last December.

Yeah I've been noticing that down here in the South they have quite a premium on them. I figured $13k would be a good listing spot and I would accept a lower offer depending on which mods the buyer wanted me to keep on or take off.

Thank you! I'm usually pretty much the same way so I completely understand what you mean. I figured $13k would be a good listing spot and I would accept a lower offer depending on which mods the buyer wanted me to keep on or take off, I just hope that some perspective buyers wouldn't be completely turned away by the mods if I include in any listing that I can reverse them entirely back to stock.

Your mods will narrow the market, maybe not by much, but most buyers who would value those are not interested in 2wd. I say return it to stock and transfer your mods onto your new 4wd when you get it.

Agreed. If you plan to get another 4runner, then would make sense to take the mods off and put the current 2wd to stock. Buyers hardly ever want to pay extra for mods. That way you also have all good mods ready for the new truck, versus losing money on them now and then paying retail for them again.

Also some buyers have this misconception in their minds that if the vehicle is modded, then it was likely abused.
