What is that little closed end tube?

The anatomy of this new engine is Vastly more complex than the good ol 2nd gen. Anyone have any experience?

Anyone know what this is? RED CIRCLE.

Also, does anyone know why TOYOTA leaves the wires exposed right before the couplers? BLUE CIRCLE. (in the 2nd gen the black tape extends to the couplers)

Lastly, people are talking about taping off the fuel something or other to decrease engine noise? Has anyone tried this? GREEN CIRCLE.

The red circle is just a vacuum port that isnt used.

The wires are exposed to allow more flexibility. Its okay because the insulation and metal are a much higher grade than was used on 2nd gens.

The green circled component is the Closed Canister Valve for the Evap System. It allows fresh air to enter the Charcoal Canister while purging the fuel vapors. Do not remove or disconnect this. You will throw a P0446 code.
