What is the best head unit on the market?

Alpine kenwood and pioneer are the best heads in the market as per the surveys but Kenwood has some problems one of my friend always facing problems with kenwood so i won't suggest kenwood and I am using Pioneer from two years it is a good product.You can go with it otherwise Alpine is another best choice.If you have the patience to wait for another advanced product you can wait for Alpine INA-W910.

The one that sounds the best to you had has the most features that are important to you and how you will use it.
 
Im going to go with JVC... Easy to use and fast.

why I think the others suck and not really worth it.

Kenwood-over priced and the unit are mind numbingly slow.

Alpine-once agin over priced and and way to complicated for an average user.

Clarion- the only good clarion is the NX702, the others just work in a weird way

Pioneer- This would be my second choice but I live in AZ and Pioneer doesn't do well in the heat. The units get so hot they break solder on the RCA out puts. And the grounding through the RCA outputs tend to cause noise in the signal.

edit: this is just my list for double dins with video, my list for single dins is completely different.
 
My suggestion is Alpine, I don't like the fancy flip out dvd and whatnot. Just a good sounding stereo.
 
I run the Kenwood bt901. Its a single din without a cf player. It works with my zune and I can say that it has some excellent sq. Its paired with cdt components, esx quantum amps by zed....and a 10" alumapro alchemy and it is a wonderful blend.
 
The "best" head unit is the one that has all the features YOU need and want, with the look YOU want, and with the price YOU are willing to pay--and with the quality of a top name brand to make it last. Since you're talking amps, your "best" design should include multiple pre-amp outputs of at least 4V rating (the higher the voltage, the cleaner the signal to the amps). Best of luck!
 
Thanks for all of the input. In the end I went with the Kenwood 9990. It has 5 volt pre outs and pretty much every feature I wanted. I looked at the top of the line Pioneer but the quality did not seem to be there.

I also figured while I was doing it, I might as well install an amp so I went with a Focal 4100 to run my K2P components. Unfortunately my second set of Focal components had 2 blown tweeters so now I am in a conundrum. Do I put in just the mid ranges in the door (I don't care about my passengers) or do I put in the KRC coaxes?

It sounds unbelievable and I haven't even had a chance to really tune it in yet. I am missing some bass so I have been reading up quite a bit on how much space I have to replace the stock sub

Best Unit For A Low Price!

If the question was what is the best unit at a low price I would recommend the Performance Teknique model ICBM-9723 with a 6.2" screen that's only about $160-$180 on Amazon or Ebay. It doesn't have Nav or bluetooth but does have all the other features and is very well made and has a good video display and even a remote control. Since my phone is better than a Nav unit and I already have a Tom-tom anyway I went with this one without Nav to save some money. I got it to replace the factory radio in my '04 and have been very happy with it. I think it's made just a well as a Pioneer and maybe better than a Sony or Alpine. Also it's all self contained in one unit that doesn't need any extra boxes so it was easy to install.
