What is the purpose of the 4th Gen mirror in cargo bay

Just wondering does this help you line up to a trailor or is it basically pointless? I might look to ty and mod my 3rd Gen if this has any usefullness.

Those two small convex mirrors on the door pillars were designed, with the aid of the rear view mirror, to let the driver see to the left and right of the rear of the vehicle. The intention was to let the driver see if anyone/thing was approaching the vehicle while backing up. Unfortunately, they don't do much for aligning with a tow vehicle. I use them alot, but they are only good for seeing movement, not much detail.

It allows you to see what's approaching on either side of you when you're backing out of parking stall.

Once you get used to them, they actually work pretty well. Unfortunately my new 2008 4R has the 3rd row seating, and the seat belts bolt in where those mirrors are supposed to go..

As far as I can tell they are a use for the opening the rear tweeters in limited made. Can see a whole lot with them, but better than blank plates.
