What is the single best mod you've done to your 4R?

I'd have to say the FJ swap is my favorite, followed by swapping out the OEM sub. I had the resonator removed and exhaust rerouted, but I haven't noticed much improvement in the sulfur smell. If I've got the back window down I still get it. Only thing I can think is that it isn't angled enough. I do love the look though, it added a lot visually and made it sound much better.

When it's not blazin hot I will vent the sunroof and crack the rear window to get some air through the vehicle. The exhaust gets sucked up into the cabin.

Most my cruising is interstate so it's a pain. There's plenty of threads on the forum about it.

So by rerouting the exhaust out the side, i can ride with the rear open and feel safe? I have kids so i don't want to take any chances.

Front and rear seat covers. My stock seats still look brand new. I have 2 sons and a dog. We camp couple times a year.

Personally I wouldn't have kids back there with the window all the way down.

Quality, upsized all terrain tires is my best mod to date.

Good tires is the only mod which I've done that improved Style and Performance.

The rest are either Comfort (side exhaust, driveshaft), Convenience (bike/ski/snowboard racks) or Style (front lift, wheel spacers).

Any mod you do (especially DIY) is awesome...

I agree about the DIY.

This may seem trivial but my "single best" has to be extending the wiper interval timing. It wasn't so much the end result, which is good in itself, but the process. It was a DIY, involved problem solving, getting assistance and advice from others on the board and expanded my skill set (electronics and soldering.)

My favorite mod was converting all interior lights to LED. I love the brilliant white light that the LEDs output and all for maybe $20. 2nd favorite was cutting off my rear mud flaps, I have never been a fan of them.

Best mod that any Gen 4 4R owner can do is to level the forward rake, I wish I had the guts to do this mod myself.

you can cancel out the forward rake by installing rancho quick lift struts in front, they lift the truck by about 2''
