What is this and why is it running?

Hey guys,

Little box above the spare....seems to be a fuel relay or the electronic fuel pump.....my 4Runner has been in the garage since early this morning. Went to look at something under the car and noticed this thing sounds like its running....almost like a fan is running...but the noise is coming from this box.

I'm guessing this is not normal? Anyone else have this issue? Thoughts?

Awesome guys...thanks for the witty comments. You are right. I'll be damned if I didn't read that owners manual about any noise from the rear. Guess I read everything else but....

Apparently some of you guys have a lot more time than I do reading entire manuals and creating alternate screennames to accomodate a joke. I guess you don't have kids. :)

 
You got you answer on the first post and in all honestly, I meant no direct offense to you :peace: , that is the first time I have ever seen someone create an alt user account like that and it struck me as pretty damn funny. :)

You sir are correct, regrettably I don't have kids. :(

A Life? not so much...

kids <0-1 yr old = zombie slave to child
kids >1 < driving own car = no life, double so if into sports

kids >18 = mid life crisis if no college bills and moved out of house

What to get?

I'm partial to boats, but a German sports car isn't completely out of the question.

if you can read an owners manual front to back without getting academic whiplash, go right ahead.

the only time I dive into that thing is if I looking for something specific or cant google it up.

I'd rather take the wrath of the forums than having to skim actual printed paper, I break out in hive's touching physical paper :LOL:
