What is this clainging sound?

Hi i got a clanging sound coming from my front drive side its been like this since i bought it 4 weeks ago! i cant figer it out so i posted a video and hope some one can hear and help. I checked the wheel bearings which are fine tire rod and ball joints seem fine as well only to things i can think of would be 1. the shocks or 2. the cv alex is bounceing inside the hub. any ideas?

u will notice it at 5 sec mark it will make the clang

also it only dose it on certin bumbs like big bumps wont do it but small ones will or railroad tracks seems to make it sound up to.

I'm on my cell phone so I can't see the video but did you check your lower control arm bushings?

yeah i jacked it up and pushed and pulled on everything it all seems tight i even took my rubber mallet to it and hit on stuff to see if i could hear it but nothing.

Yeah I think I may have this same problem. I really hear it when I drive on rough roads. I just assumed it was just due to the fact our trucks are higher mileage and this is simply just wear and tear. Hope its nothing to serious.

I will take a look later today (at the video that is) and let you know. A bad control arm bushing is tough to diagnose by lifting the car up and trying to recreate the noise, it usually only happens when the full weight of the vehicle plus momentum etc shifts around at that point.

I can't tell from the video but the dog certainly has an opinion about it...

Does it ever make a pop when you're turning into or out of a parking space?

sounds kind of like a bad CV my wife had once. not sure though. have you tried jacking up your car then using a second jack to raise and lower the wheels? I know that helped me work out some stuff when I threw on the new suspension. any other symptoms besides just the noise?

well after watching definitely not control arm bushings, hard to tell with the dog barking though.

yeah that stupid dog barking makes it hard to hear. and i have tried useing 2 jacks but i pulled on the cv and it was all tight didnt fill like it was broken and it dosent do it when turning only on small bumps.

once i get it back on the road i will get some more vids of it a better one of the sound and post it. right now i just did a BL and i had to order the stearing spacer so im unable to drive it till it comes in.
