What is this Hood Mount Recovery Bracket??

Can anyone identify the hood mount bracket being used in the pic? I cannot find this bracket anywhere. It may be modified from another vehicle or maybe a High Lift Jack or something like that. Please, let me know. Thanks!

Thank you very much for the information. Looks like the powder coat does not hold up well. That's a shame, it's a great idea....even though your visibility is reduced.
 
Also works for washing machines!

Visibility is already bad enough. Don't put more shit on your hood. It's not a good idea.

Rest assured, I will not be doing that. You never know when one of these things can become a projectile. I just figured it was a decent alternate option for mounting some recovery gear (on trail only and not during transport). Reminds me of the Defender 110 mounting options. However, after reading about the company...it's a no-go for sure.

On the 110, we used to walk on the hood to get the hi-lift and tracks. Crazy strong that was!!

All the better for hauling heavy loads! That was a picture the police put on IG somewhere near Houston. So not only were they actually driving it that way - but they were driving it that way so far that they had to stop for gas during the journey! While having a perfectly good - and empty - roof rack. (You'll also not the perfectly good and empty roof rack on the 4Runner... just sayin)

It's the same series of diesel you now can buy in a GM Colorado. GM seems to go to great lengths to claim it's a "completely new inhouse design", but that's really not true at all. It's still a VM Motori 428. The Jeep used IIRC the R428 DOHC and the GM is now called an A428 DOHC. It's updated for GM, but that engine has been a notorious piece of shit for decades. I hope the new "duramax" version is better.

The Ecotechne make a recovery track rack (ramp support) for the hood. It's not made for the 4Runner but it can be adapted.

LOL I was half hoping they didn't as it would have made the picture that much more funny, at a diesel only pump :D

Not to go all Texas geography teacher on you, but I think it was near Abilene in West Central Texas, but my biggest question is how would you get a washing machine up on the roof?

My brother in Houston sent me the pic. Said it was local. I probably misunderstood local. I think he travels to Abilene a lot.

I would put it in the back.
