What is this thing on the back of the center console?

Cool, that's what I assumed. I just wanted someone to confirm it before I continued blindly doing it.

I haven't read the entire thread about the Hilux bag, but if anyone else wants one, I would be interested in a group buy (which is my understanding of how some people got their bag). My only reservation about the bag is the connection straps look kinda cheap attached that way. I guess they are made that way for conveinice of removal of the bag........anyway, I guess that is stupid, because a big grocery bag on the back is going to look a whole lot worse.

The straps are pretty well made and don't look like they'd pull of easily from the bag. It loops around the plastic piece on the console and attaches to itself using velcro.

Yeah Jomama went over to Japan and was kind enough to grab a few bags and a couple nic nacks. If you can find someone going overseas they can probably do the same. Good luck!

haha, same here.. only thing that stays in there cuz i usually forget and i go through so much, is gum wrappers..

i don't eat in my car, just don't want to deal with the mess.. i don't let any passengers eat either, very limited on what drinks can be brought in the car, and passengers have to be extra careful; cuz if they spill, they pay to have it cleaned..

I'll tell you I have an issue with the Hilux can. I am always folding my seats up and down for my bike and my dog and I can't do this with the can attached so it winds up loose on the back floor all the time. Everytime I hook it up right, a hour later I need to fold the seat down and it is in the way.

When I just had the plastic bag on there I could still fold my seats down without removing the bag. The bag and handle would just fold down together.

Believe it or not I have two of these cans! One from j0mama and one I already had ordered elsewhere but kept the order just to make sure I at least got one..........I may be selling both.

That's a very good point. I hadn't thought about that inconvenience.

Newbie question... and I would do a search but i dont even know what it is called... what is the purpose of the handle on the back of the 04 center console? here is a pic of what i am talking about... it can be flipped up like in the pic or flipped down to the floor...

Hello Nathan, it's to flip up and put a small trash can liner over the frame for trash. Kind of a weird setup, but it does work if you don't have a passenger sitting in the middle of the back seat. Take care, Dena
