To the right of the R? Just shows you where reverse is so you don't miss or put it in reverse accidentally

when your battery is completely dead even with the key in the ignition you can't shift out of park. So in order to be towed or pulled on to flat bed. you pop that cover, hold the recessed button down and put it in neutral. Giving you the ability to get towed to a shop or push your vehicle out of the way of traffic.

He's not looking at the override. I looked at my pic of the shifter gate. He means the little rectangle to the right of the R that shows us where reverse is. It's useless there lol
