I have no idea how to search for this since I don't have a clue what it is. Can anyone identify? It always makes a "buzzing" sound, whether it's after I just shut the truck off or in the morning after being off all night. Thanks in advance!

No idea why it makes that sound, but it's a common question here. It's emissions related. I'm sure a search will yield plenty if info.

Charcoal canister simply absorb gas vapor when the engine is not running

When you start the car, it will suck the gas vapor absorbed in the charcoal.

...interesting, I don't want to hijack, but... I have been throwing an emissions code on my 98'(p0441 if I remember right) that relates back to the evap system. Subsequently it is linked to the same charcoal canister and related parts discussed here. I was tracing vacuum lines and replaced all related except the one that goes into the frame directly downstream from the part in this link. Anyone know where it goes after it enters the frame? Not looking for problem solving for my code, just interested in any info on the mystery vacuum line.
