What is this? Mechanic sent me this photo and said I need a new one...$1500
Told me it’s a transfer case shift motor.
I’ve got a 2001 4Runner
What say ya’ll?

Seems steep for that. I bet you can find an entire transfer case from a junk yard. Also you might want to contact Marlin Crawler and Wyatt at RST(Rock Solid Toys) to see if they have a solution for your rig.
