What is the thing in my passenger side, very rear side window, that looks like an antenna built into the window? It starts as a line then forks out.... im stumped.

On the side? Why isnt it on the other side? And it only covers about 1/25th of the window

I always thought it was a defroster because that area of my window starts to defog when I put on the rear defroster. Could be the heat from my rear window, though, that is making that area clear up as well. I believe mine covers several square inches of the window, though.

I only noticed it was defogging in that area when I did a head check before changing lanes. If it is a defroster, that could be the reason why it is only on the passenger side.

Yeah I'll post a pic. Its definitely not an antenna, I have the power one in front.

It's an antenna which I think is primarily for AM.

sorry for humping on this thread but has anyone replaced the hood mounted attenna? If so, did you have to replace the power unit along with attenna or just attenna itself? Also, did you do it yourself if so was it hard?
