What is your MPG on your 1st gen 4runner

hey guys i am a newbie here! i am looking into buying a 85-89 4runner. I love the the removable top and just about everything on the way that they look. I am curious about gas mileage though. i work at $10.30 an hour and i am 16. so i need a vehicle i can afford to drive. i am guessing they get around 20 mpg hwy and 16mpg city. I need confirmation though. If you have time just telll me the year of your truck and what the gas mileage is. (also the cost to fill it up if you are close to BC)

24 MPG highway

22 MPG city: Short Shifting

14 MPG: 4x4 winter and stepping on it

Keep in mind my 4runner is kept up with on 230,000km

32 inch tires
4 inch lift
254,000 miles

I get around 17-18 MPG total - have not broken it down by city/highway - my goal is to get it to be around 20 MPG through good maintenance, air filter, etc....

off topic for a sec.. how come you have a 4 inch lift and only 32 inch tires..???

But i have a 86 stock height and 32x11.5 tires. They re buckshot muddders.. pretty aggressive and 221,000 miles and i get about 16 mpg combined.

that's just the choice I made at the time (32")

I don't really go offroading - just wanted something bigger that would complement the truck's look - I think it looks good, and the ride is OK. My speedometer/odometer are skewed 10% already due to the tire/wheel size increase - I don't need more than that!!
