What kind of lift for 20 inch wheels

I have a 2006 T4R with the XS-P pasckage on it and I wanted to put an all terrain tire on it. Right now I am running the BFG G-Force in 265/50/R20 and I like them in the rain and dry pavement but would like to swap them out for a tire with a taller sidewall and a more aggresive all terrain tread. I am assuming that I will have to put some sort of a lift on it to get the clearance that I need but I would like to go with a spacer kit to keep the factory ride. Can it be done and what height will I need to do it. I don't have any plans to do any off roading but would like the more aggresive stance while maintaing the factory 20's.

Also any suggestions on tires. I have been looking at the Nitto Terra Grappler. This may sound like a dumb question but how do you measure the rim size to match the tire that you would like to install.

With tire sizes the last number is the size of the rim. Ex. 265/75/16 16 is the rim size.

I think you would be safe with 265/55/20 stock. If you wanted more you would need lift it.

Your choices on tires are probably going to be a little limited since you have 20" rims.

My 4runner is going to get some 20" as soon as I can (maybe 4-5 more months) I also want a lift and some meaty AT tires. Kind of like Chaz has.... not that big but similar. I like the look of his but dont know if is gonna be possible with 20"rims and what kind o lift I would need to make it work

guys, im sorry to say, but with my tires, mickey thompson baja atz,( i run 265/70/17 size)(31.7) , the smallest tire size for a 20 in. rim is a 305, thats like 33.5. you would need a 3in. lift with some trimming to run em, & if thats not bad enough, theyre like 335 a piece! ouch! but if you went with a 17 in. rim, they cost under 200 a piece. you guys will pay top dollar for 20 inchers if ya can find em in a style you like. here are a few ideas on tires that might interest you,- kumho road venture mt kl 71 (good reviews), nitto trail grappler, goodyear wrangler duratrac(good prices),hankook m/t rt-03,procomp xtreme at, procomp severe weather at,cooper sst,toyo at,fc-11, the list goes on , im not even sure they can all be had in 20s. thought id throw some ideas out just in case . goodluck

Looked at the Nittos before and they come in 20's in a 30.5 inch tire, 32, 33 etc. So would any of these fit without the lift?

The 1st number is the width (265mm), the 2nd number is the height of the sidewall as a ratio to the width, and the 3rd is the rim size.

So a 265/70/17 is TALLER than a 265/65/17, but the same width.

I run a 255/75/17, which is a little narrower than stock tire, but a bit taller.

You want a tire that is around 32" tall, most often they are 31.6 or something like that.

Something like this is what I would like for my t4r...my rims are going to be more offroad looking tho',....but this is the size of rims and tires...

This truck has the Nitto Dune Grapplers 265/50/20 but I am not digging those tires too much...really dont' like the flame tread design . But this is the main idea .

looks good. JAC that size should work for you, in my opinion tho, i think you should stick to a classy theme instead of an off road theme. those wheels pictured would look good with a set of nitto terra grapplers or toyo ats, no?
