What led step lights should I use?

So I plan on getting a pair of nerf bars. I want to put waterproof led step lights on the bottom side of the bars, but I don't know which ones to use. I'm not looking to use those "waterproof" led light strips. I had those on before, but the weren't exactly "waterproof". My plan is to either drill or cut out holes/slots on the bottom side to flush mount the led lights. So does anybody recommend anything specific or can lead me in the right direction. I'm not looking to spend a whole lot of $$, so rigid industry lights are out of the picture because of their price range. I'm not concerned if they are from eBay or Amazon, I would actually prefer them to be from either one of those sites. Any help would be appreciated.

Here is a picture of the nerf bars:

You were using the wrong strip lights, probaly just weather proof or water resistant, I've had these from SuperBrightLEDs for almost 4 years and been in rain, mud, puddles, and a few water crossings (not up to the door, but probably just below the hubs) and never had a problem. I did have a set of cheap ones that only lasted a few months, but these are encased in ~1/8" of silicone all around.

That said, those round ones in the first picture are also nice and bright although I can't attest to the water resistance. Edit - looks like they're made for boats (?) so I guess they're probably plenty water proof. The ones I've seen in person were called "eagle eye 3W" (also avail in 9W) and came from eBay I believe.

Do any of you know where I would find the wire for the illuminated running board lights on my sr5 that came with unlit ones? Is there even a wire pre run? I have searched and searched and haunt found anything.

I don't think anyone has checked to see if there is a wire yet. This has come up a few times and I've yet to see anyone post a certain answer.

On my limited there is rubber body plug/grommet under the driver's seat. You can see it from under the truck, I'd recommend locating that then looking under the seat for a wire that has power only when you open the doors. If you can't find one then you'll have to pull power from one of the door lights or somewhere else in the cabin.

I believe the wires were red and white for what it's worth.

Thanks I'll start there. Like you said, I've seen a few other people ask the question but no answers. I really hope the stock wires are there, that'd make wiring up some lights much easier. :thanks:
