What material to make a platform from?

Hey folks,
I am looking to make a platform to mount a fuse block, relays, etc. What is a good material to use that is heat resistant and a can be used for something like this? I was trying to find some sort of plastic but haven't had luck figuring it out yet.

you could use ABS sheet assuming it's not crazy hot, the thickness you need would depend on the size and what you're mounting to it but it's all pretty cheap


or if you want to get fancy the perforated metal used inside electrical cabinets to mount everything

Thanks guys. I saw Antmans thread and really liked that idea and was thinking of doing something similar. I currently have a Slee ARB mount with a single compressor. I am looking to make a platform that goes over the stock fuse box and on the free space of the mount, basically an L shape. I would mount everything so it could be disconnected easily to access the stock fuse box. I made a cardboard template that fits pretty good and have an idea for the mounting. The temperature under the hood is what worries me with certain materials.

I'll take a look at all the suggestions, I appreciate the information.

abs sheet. tap plastics is located in many places and can cut for you. you can also heat and bend with just a heat gun

plastic cutting boards are made from HDPE because it is stable and food safe.

That's what I like to hear, what kind of cutting board did you use?

Literally went to Walmart and bought the small $0.89 cutting board.

A little thinner than most would like with a little bit of flex, but you can see how I installed it in my build thread, and it is rock solid. Easy to custom shape with a jigsaw as well!

Get a sheet of 1/4 inch aluminum. You can cut it with a band saw or jig saw. Or by hand. Clean up the edges with a file, smooth with sandpaper. Paint it or not. Don’t use plastic. Yuk.
