What paint to use on step tubes or sliders?

I have a set of step tubes i want to paint black. I was curious what paints you guys have tried for similar applications. I just want to use something that will hold up to daily use like rocks, kids, etc. Thanks in advance.

VHT makes a "Chassis and Rollbar" paint.
VHT Roll Bar & Chassis Paint
It goes on thick and is tough.
Make sure you clean the steel with either Acetone of brake cleaner first. Then prime.

It gives a smooth finish. It comes in either a gloss or satin.

Another idea would be some of that roll-on bedliner over a primer base coat--that would give you toughness and some texture for a non-slip step. That's what I'm planning on doing with my sliders.

I just used rustoleum's 2x flat black. Worked pretty well. Still chips in spots, but easy enough to touch up. For the tops, I bought some 3M non-slip tape. It works perfectly.

That looks good with the tread tape on it. Hopefully i can match the texture of my new Urban Runner rack. Hopefully i can get out to check on some paints tomorrow.

I went with the Herculiner bed-liner roll-on kit. Built-in slip resistance, but never looks "really" clean. About time to re-apply.

I used E-Z Liner (made for truck beds). Goes on pretty thick, almost took 4 cans to do both my sliders with 3 very solid coats. Looks good and has some grip to it (i used it on my grill as well). Another option could be Rhino Liner, Its big bucks but its around 3/8" thick and pretty much the toughest coating you can get.
