What parts and pieces do these rigs have in common?

I've had my 98 4Runner for 2 years now and I have really packed the miles on it, so last weekend I bought a 98 Tacoma SR5 V6 xtra cab 5spd to share the mileage load. Immediately I noticed the drivetrains are almost identical, and of course the V6 is the exact same. So, my question is what other components are interchangeable? Suspension? Axles? Lights?

Basically the entire front half of the vehicle is the same, including most of the interior. Main difference in the rear is the axle, only because it uses leaf springs instead of coils.

the motor and drive train, minus the rear axle is the same, thats about it, maybe some of the interior like seats and switches... fenders, bumbers, hood, grille, lights its all differant, you cant take from one and give to the other, unless you do a whole front clip swap... search "taco front end conversion" and i should give you some pics and more details... they are on the same platform and the frame from the cab forward is the same, but other than that theres not much...

Transfer cases are interchangeable, but different. The taco has a speedo sensor on the tcase, while the 4runner has them on the axle. Front suspension/front diff is the same. all of the body parts are different.

Tacomas have a longer rear driveshaft too since the wheelbase is longer.

Thanks guys! I guess I knew the body parts are different hahaha...good info on the front suspension though. I put my old 33's from the 4Runner on it, and I can see that I need just a slight lift on it to make it all clear with no scrubbing.

Its a great running/riding truck! I hope I can keep the mod bug at bay on it for a while...but you guys know how that goes!
