What portable air compressor do you travel with?

Air volume aside, I wanted it more for the convenience of metering during fill or deflation.

I thought of a dual hose as well to fill and equalize both rear tires at the same time. I just need to get to plumbing my air lines under the truck and doing my OBA setup.

It's really not THAT big of a deal that I have it, but I think it would be a fun convenience if I ever get around to doing it.

I think that's how most are manufactured is by machining or drilling out the valve stem hole. With aluminum it's a good idea to chamfer the edges on both sides so you don't create a potential for a crack.

Probably 10-15 years ago it there were a few folks in my offroad club that were adding a second threaded port with something like a 1/2 fitting to air down faster. I think they were tractor wheel parts or something like that. They couldn't fill through them, but airing down some of the really big tires like the 50" size stuff takes a long time - especially when you consider that street pressure is probably 10-12psi and trail pressure maybe is 3psi. So now you have a lot less air pressure and you need to let a lot more air flow out, so this would make it go faster. I've never run anything bigger than 40" tires, so it wasn't an issue for me.

Surprised nobody mentioned the 440P at 3.0 CFM. Higher CFM than the 400P.

The wife bought me the Smittybuilt 2780 for Christmas. I've only tested if so far, but it inflates fast and runs pretty quiet. Glad to have it on board!

Yea, I think the automatic part of the 400P makes it better than the 440P even though less CFM after researching the two. Only runs when you have the trigger pulled whereas the 440P keeps running. Probably 10 minutes for all 4 wheels going from 15 to 35 so not bad.

I just got a Viair 88P . We are taking a trip over some mountain passes with snow this weekend and I wanted to be prepared just in case.

Another vote for the Viair 88P

This thing is small, it's cheap - way cheaper than the alternatives: Best Portable Air Compressors for Truck Tires
and it gets the work done - inflates 33-inch tires fast. What more could you ask for?

Viair 88P here as well. used it a bunch, it works great. It does run a bit hot, going from 18 psi to 38 psi, but never faltered.
