What Rear End do i Have?

Ok so i go to order a locker and Marlin Crawler tells me i have a 7.5 rear end in my t4r...is this true?

Its 2001 2wd 4runner sr5 package.

He told me its not an 8in... is there a way to tell what rear end i have?

i knew it was prob just a brain fart, or you were lookin at some other awesome rig, while trying to think about something else. we are all human. with that being said, that new short throw shift kit looks pretty freaking sweet.

yeah they say a 2wd is a 7.5 3rd i dont understand really...
I just got off the phone with them...they said the 3rds are different...every where i look it doesnt make sense though..

You need to tell them to update their f'n computers then and quit smoking crack cus there is NO WAY IN HELL it's possible. 2WD, 4WD, 465736WD, doesn't matter.. The OEM rear end in EVERY 96-02 4Runner is a damn 8"

i see your point haha i thought they were the pros though..how ever isnt the 4cyl rear end a 7.5?
 
The only difference between the 4cyl and the V6 is 2 pinion gears vs 4 pinion gears. The pinion shaft and pinion bearing are also bigger in the V6. It's a direct swap regardless. Both are 8" you just might need to specify engine size when ordering lockers.

dONT TELL ME TELL THEM!!
i felt like an idoit..they were like naw thats a 7.5...i called the guy that is installing it for me and he used to work at the local Toyota dismantling yard...and he said its Definatly a v6...
and the guys at marlin are ephing dumb unless its Big Mike or Marlin himself...
 
If you just gave them your year it would mean a V6 no matter what. 4cylinders stopped in 2000. What a bunch of ****s!
 
I emailed them.. Will let you guys know of the reply

For the record.. I wasn't getting mad at you renosauce, or anyone else for that matter. I was teasin most the time.
