What shock or shock/coil combo would you choose?

If you had a DS 2.5/1.5 spacer lift on your truck and were happy with the height....but needed new shocks...what shock or shock coil combo would you use? Hoping to avoid renting a spring compressor.

Also, I'm trying to jog my memory but do you have to unbolt the LCA's to swap in new shocks?

Thanks guys.

so when you say happy with the height do you mean keep the daystar or replace it with a suspension lift?

if i was keeping it, which i wouldnt, i would use 5100s and stock springs or stock replacement strut assembly, both prevent the need for a spring compressor.

if i was losing the daystar, id use 5100s at 2.5 with fj coils or stock coils. better valving and the fj springs will firm, but not stiffen, the ride. you will probably need a spring compressor though.

you don't have to unbolt the lca, but it does make install easier

Yes, happy with the height and ride that I've gotten from the DS spacer lift.

I guess I was looking for the easiest shock or strut assembly swap. I guess either way I go I'll have to undo the LCA's and get an alignment anyway. Might as well go Bilstien. Then I have to get those springs onto the shock.

it really isn't too hard, just be patient and sure. definitely not something to rush through

I would run the FOX Factory Series front coilovers with remote reservoirs and the external high and low speed adjusters.
In the rear, I would use an OME 895 or maybe just a little softer rate rear coil spring and again the FOX Factory Series rear shocks and external adjusters. With this setup, you will never need to purchase another shock again. If you dont like the ride, you can have the shocks rebuilt to suuit your needs.

I'd just order a set of toytec coilovers. I've been very happy with mine.

Been happy with mine. The superflex sprinGS are a tad stiff but nothing that I'm not used to.

As for the LCA unbolt it will make it a lot easier or you will have to have somebody else press it down low enough to clear the shock.
