What size crossbars?

Hi all, I want to get crossbars for the 4Runner, but don't know what size, would like them to stick out a bit past the rails, but not to much.....would 50" do it?

@JPL easy answer: Get the biggest ones and mount them. If you find that they are too wide: trim a few inches off. Still too wide? Trim more.

You can't add more.

I went wider to give me more options of what I put on top. I'm able to fit two Yakima SkyBox 16s side by side and open each one at the same time. Very convenient.
