What size tire can I fit?

I have a bone stock 98 SR5 with 4wd. I will need new tires in the next couple of months and would like to know what the largest I can fit on the stock suspension is. I plan on getting a mild suspension lift this summer but right now it's stock and I need to make sure that what I buy will fit. From my research, I think the largest I can fit will be 265/75/R16. Is that right?

This is mostly a weekend fun truck. It will see some forest roads, some makeshift trails, and so on, but mostly highway getting to and from these destinations. What's the recommended tire / size for that use case?

I'm pretty sure most will tell you to use the search button...

But the rest of the people will probably tell you 265/75. I ran that bone stock and now have a 3-4" lift and i have zero issues with how it looks. As for now, it's strictly road-use until I get everything done maintenance-wise.

You'll get the best fuel economy(some will say its negligible compared to 33s) and with the right tire, you will still be able to run trails.

I like the BFG KO2 tires. They seem to be decent on the road and on the trail. I don't usually buy BFGs for our cars, but it seems like a good buy for this use case. What tire are you running?

I was being sarcastic with the search comment before someone chimed in and said it for real.

I run 265/75 Wild Country XTX. They are made by Cooper. My best friend is the head manager at a Tireman and has been Wheeling for 10+ years in 4+" lifted Jeeps and he swears by these tires. He has run them on the same trails as as his KO2s and said he only runs the BFG because he gets them at cost and likes the tread design more but they are just as good.

Of course thats comparing with what everyone considers the holy grail of AT tires. They are no match for MTs but since you are mostly street-use...

Didn't see where you live but here in Ohio, these tires are a beast in the snow! I have yet to get them off-road and are basically silent on the street.
