So if you are in drive and you gas it with your foot on the brake and it revs up and then won't go, that means your transmission is done, right? No atrac/vsc lights on. However it is activated.

From others who have encountered this, and rebuilt the transmission, the first thing to go is the forward clutch.

Any luck on finding a used one yet?

I have a auto tranny/tcase out of my 97. Perfect working condition. Reason I took it out is for 5 speed. I might be wrong but I just glanced at this post and something about PA. I'm in NJ so your more then welcomed to come pick it up.
