Yeah that was my first thought. I figure if everyone on here around the NE is willing to keep any eye out, we should be able to find one.
The ones with the prices listed on car-part where listed at $1200. I would get a rebuild at that rate.

Yeah, listed there are probably expensive, but I think if you hit up some local yards you could get it for less. Or troll the classified on multiple forums for a part out. The tranny's go fast, but that's because they usually go cheap ($4-500 seems typical), plus then you have a better idea of the history. I have seen guys get a tranny for as low as $150.
Why does getting the pink milkshake ruin the transmission? I understand if you continue to drive without noticing the heat will ruin it, but what harm does leaving the mixture in there do? I have a pretty solid understanding of how an auto transmission works but I can't see how having an atf water mixture would do harm just sitting there.
I don't know specifically, but some components could soak up the water, corrode easily, short out , etc... Especially with it being in there for a week, I think that does alot of damage. Maybe if it were drained and flushed same day, you could minimize the damage, but I would think time exposed to water is bad, even if it isn't run.
I agree with little caesar too, I havn't been trolling as long as him, but I have read several guys that flushed after a milkshake, then a few months later reported the tranny failing completely or needing a full rebuild. One guy ended up rebuilding about 3 times because it kept going out, though I don't know that that was 100% due to the milkshake. If it was me, I'd troll for a cheap transmission, then swap it out. That may take some time though...
