MICA4R New member Aug 1, 2011 #1 I have 45K miles. Do I need a flush? The fluid is clear and pink and that residue wipes away with a paper towel? Mold? What are your thoughts? Also, is the Radiator hose supposed to look like that? with the white crust? Thank y'all. (in TX now) Missing Chicago very much!

G Gatafly New member Aug 1, 2011 #2 I believe that is silicate residue from the antifreeze. Not uncommon as far as I know. When I had it I would change the fluid and wipe the residue off. Never caused a problem for me.

G Gatafly New member Aug 2, 2011 #4 Not necessarily. My radiator was clean as a whistle and only got the stuff in the reservoir.
