What tires are on your limited?

Limited 20" owners only please.
What type of tires did your LIMITED come with and do you feel ANY Steering wheel shimmy, AT ALL even slight, starting around 60 mph??? I test drove 2 limiteds and they both get it around 60-70 mph. My tires are Bridgestone and I get it. Toyota rep stated its because the 20" low profile wheels and new suspension system. I had them roadforce balance and aligned and acoriding to them it is spot on, but the tech who drove with me confirmed the shimmy. Any input (from ANYONE here not just the Limited guys). Thanks fellas

I've got the Yokohama's on my Limited, and have zero vibration at any speed.

The excuse they gave you that it's from low profile tires or a new suspension is ridiculous. Was that out of someone at the dealer's mouth, or someone from Toyota actually said that?
 
Somethings wrong. I've never had that, with the stock tires or the Copper Zeon's I have now.

Was it always like that? Could be something else in the drive line out of wack.
 
Haven't noticed anything like that with the yokohama. We have reached 150 KPH when passing, so far very smooth.

Rep from Toyota based out of New Jersey, drove in it and said it and as a matter of fact they test drove his and it was noticably worse. This thread is not Limited Bias, but I did drive an SR5 and it was very smooth. I also feel it in the gas pedal (vibration) the truck shakes a bit like there is a tire out of balance, but there is not (according to my dealer)

I have Bridgestones on my Limited with no problems whatsoever.

I surprised at the many "shimmy" at high speed being so prevalent. I assume it is a small minority but there is an issue somewhere. Maybe the 20s have are susceptible to being knocked out of alignment easily?
 
I "had" the Bridgestones too. I really did not like the handling of the tires and the 20" wheels. The 20" wheels are only 7" wide and came with 245/60 tires. These seemed real skinny and tall to me and the lower sidewall profile made them handle funny (to me). I traded for a new set of 17" FJ Cruiser wheels with new Dunlop tires. The new tires are 265/70's which are virtually the same height with much more sidewall and width. These feel (to me) much more traditional handling I had in my Tacoma and older 4R.
 
Well im at a loss, the last 2 days the steering shake was gone now today its back at 63 mph. I wonder if the air temp/humididty has anything to do with it. I just dont know but im bringing it in tomorrow for them to look at me like im nuts, the service manager is going to drive it. Gotta say though they are trying to figure it out and im not getting the brush off.

Have them look at the XREAS, look for leaks, check it's at the proper pressure, etc.

If your tires have been checked and rechecked and it comes and goes, it almost sounds like a bad valve in the XREAS. Does this seem to occur after hitting a bump? Harmonic vibration can occur if one of the shocks dampening function is not working properly. Just a thought, hopefully it helps.

I'm leaning towards a bad tire though. Something tells me if you got some better rubber you would loose this problem.
