What tires to get?

thanks for all the help. are the thornbirds really that bad? i was actually leaning towards them because they looked good for highway, and decent for offroading. they looked pretty unconventional, which is nice for a change. how many miles (or kilometers to make it easy for me) does your irok radials get? i realized as soon as i posted the original question, that i would be paying out the asss for the mickys. so either BFG M/T, or interco SX. what one will last longer on the road, and which one costs more? thank you all again

Everyone I have ever known that had Thornbirds hated them. They have a very bad reputation around here, but I've never run them.

The Iroks are very soft rubber and if you drove them hard I bet you could kill them in 20k KM's or so, but I baby my truck and expect to get a few years out of them.

Just make sure that what ever tire you buy is a radial if you're driving mostly on the street. The radials last 3 times longer than the bias do on the road, and ride smoother too.

The BFG M/T's are probably the best tire on your list and will last the longest, give the best on road ride and probably perform very well offroad too, but if you're looking for a nasty offroad tire with an aggrerssive big lug pattern I'd go with something from Interco...

why did they hate the thornbirds? is it milage? onraod perf? offroad perf? price? if not the thorns, im thinking of the bfg m/t

Thornbirds have terrible offroad performance. From what I hear anyway.

ok, so basically, my tire choices are (not in any order)
1) BFG M/T 31's
2) Goodyear MTR's 31's
3) Interco TSL Radials 31's
4) Interco SSR Radials 31's
any ideas/suggestions/input? also, what tire will have the best and worst life? noise has no bearing as i am installing my new sony xplod stereo and bazooka sub on friday, in a heated garage so i dont freeze my ass off outside (its already snowed in calgary) courtesy of my hot neighbour (oh yea).

ps. sorry to keep on bothering you guys, as i am a BIG noob when it comes to tires. again, sorry, as you probably get like 15 noobs per day asking the same question..

BFG's....but I'm just repeating myself. The Goodyear's are good but they won't last nearly as long (and they aren't any better based on my experience)....and they are at least as expensive if not more.

No experience with the Interco's but I can't imagine that they are better...maybe just cheaper.
