What to use on water spots and old adhesive on glass?

Day three of detailing my 200 mile old TRD, cleaning the glass i noticed very fine water spots on the driver side Windows and remnants of numbers on the windshield in front of the driver. Think it may have been some kind of sticker about the size of a licence plate. I can feel like an etching when I run my fingernail over it. Can't tell it's there unless you know what your looking for. What have you guys found that works. I tried a lite polish, the vinegar and a bunch of glass cleaners.

Ibusebmy buffing wheel and polish from the maguire's complete restore kit on my windows. Had to press pretty hard but the spots came out

Mothers® California Gold® Water Spot Remover for Glass worked well for me against water stains, leaves the glass so clean water sheets like it has Rain-X. Clean the glass first with standard glass cleaner.

Mr. Clean Magic Erasers are must-haves in your detailing kit. I use full strength Nonsense and a Magic Eraser after a wash(sprayed onto pad, scrubbed lightly, wiped off with microfiber), finish with spray-on paint sealant (currently using Recharge). Rain-X windshield washer fluid.

I did this recently using Ajax/Comet kitchen cleaner. It cleared up the windows very well

I'm a professional detailer - I use Citrol 266 for water spots - get to 'em before they etch in. If that happens then it need to be corrected with a compound or wet sanding.
