What type of knives do you own?

Saw a thread about guns, and it got me curious...What kind of knives do you guys carry for hunting, camping, fishing, protection, etc?

I own a few Gerber knives, this is the only one I can find a picture of. It's 10.75" with a 6" blade.

Always on the lookout for more great knives, it's a bit of an obsession. I have over a dozen altogether, mostly folding lock blades.

This is my next target. It's 11.125 inches long, with a 6.125 inch blade. About $250.

cold steel Recon 1. Best Knife "Tactical" knife I have owned. Hunting, I only use Buck or handmade knives. My buddy makes his own and gave me one a few years ago.

I have about 15 knives that I've collected over the years...but they are mostly just folding knives. I have several Eye Brands, Tree Brands, Case, Moore Maker, etc. When I go camping or up to the mountains though I carry a CRKT Urban Shark or Puma folding locking knife.

I'm a Benchmade "axis lock" fan. All EDC knives would be their folders.

I've had a leatherman for years. it's an excellent utility type folding knife. I usually just leave it in my truck somewhere and its come in handy on more than one occasion.

right now I've got a bit of a knife phobia though that Im slowly getting over because back in March I nearly cut half of my middle finger off, I only got halfway through though and now I cant feel one whole side of my middle finger from the little knuckle to the tip.

Be very aware of what you're doing when using knives, losing feeling in a body part takes some getting used to.

Blades

Another topic near and dear to my heart! I have almost as many knifes (utility, fixed blades, and folders) as I do firearms and flashlights.

I have a variety of brands including Cold Steel, Spyderco, Gerber, Ka-bar, Leatherman, and others. The most expensive are not always my favorites.

My favorite fixed blades are my Cold Steel SRK and KA-BAR USMC.

EDC is always a folder.

I sometimes carry a Chris Reeve's Sebenza or Tom Mayo TNT but ninety percent of the time a Benchmade fits the bill (IMO the best value in the folding blade world)

On any given day I am most likely to be carrying a model 806 AFCK, a model 710 McHenry & Williams or 943 Osborne. I also carry a Leatherman Micra on my keychain.

Mostly full size LM Wave or older series. BM Mini-Grip-plain-black is my favortie now. If it is shirt and tie affair, then it is a Willaim Henry Damascus blade w/ Titanium handles. In the field? fond of my old Mark I & Mark II Gerbers.

I collect knives and that is the set of knives I use for my kitchen. I like mostly traditional knives, but I have all kinds. If you keep up with knives like I do, you realize American knife companies are in trouble. A lot have closed down and a lot are getting some of their knives from China.

My favorite knives are from US, (Buck, Case), Germany (Boker, Bulldog) and Spain (Nieto, Mulea).

For every day carry, benchmade griptilian. Well made for a $30 knife.

For more serious situations, I keep a well used benchmade nimravus on my body armor.
