What videos do you want to see?

Hi everyone!

So I'm a photographer/videographer by trade, and recently I've been working more and more with video.

In an effort to practice and hone my production and post-production skills, I've been thinking about starting a YouTube channel revolving around my 4Runner and off-roading in general. Nothing crazy. Maybe some rig walk-arounds with friends (or maybe people on here ), some upgrades I have planned, and off-roading trips I do.

Nothing incredibly frequent either (maybe a video or two each month).

But I figured hey, if I want to practice, I might as well do it about something I love, and give the people what they want. I'm probably a ways out from actually producing and uploading my first video, but I am curious. What does your ideal 4runner/off-road/overlanding/4x4 video content look like?

Hey Jake,

I like the videos that have a documentary feel to them. Not only do I like to see the wheelin aspect, but I like a glimpse into the lives of the people making up the group of friends.

I like to see the adventures that made the trip.. the rest stops, things happening during the groups downtime while not wheelin, the hardships encountered, interviews and back stories into some of the peoples lives, that kind of stuff.

I'd like to see something inspirational..

Hey Bmecler. Thanks for the feedback! That's an interesting take on things that I hadn't really considered. I don't do a ton of extended trips, but I have some planned for the future when it gets a bit warmer. I'll definitely keep this in mind when I end up filming them. Thanks!

As I said, I am mainly a photographer as of now but my current line of work is pushing me to do more and more video, hence why I thought it would be fun to practice production and post-production on my own free time with off-roading and 4x4 related videos.

So I actually went forward with this and decided, screw it, I am going to make this happen! I've got some fun videos planned with some friends, and a buddy of mine who is putting Kings in his Jeep WK, so hopefully people will find it interesting!

Definitely going to happen. I am going to eventually do a walk around of my 03 4runner, and then I will eventually do walkarounds of friends rigs and stuff. I've got a buddy with a 2010 Jeep WK with an 8" lift on long travel Kings and 35s and he is super pumped to talk about it and share it with the world!

Would love to see more of your setup for when you go camping and how you pack your truck. I`m sure that would be useful for quite a few folks!

Being new to 4x4 and trucks I have watched a lot of videos in the past month. The one thing I wished people did was explain what they are doing when wheeling. Why they chose that line, what terrain mode is selected, 4hi/4low, lockers on/off, etc..

Overall the ones I found enjoyable to watch are those that document their journeys.

I really like the idea also of videos explaining why/what. I decided to take that line because. I decided to use locker instead of a-trac because. That type of thing. New TRD off-road owner. Those kind of videos would be great.

I like to see video of our rigs in the different elements sand, snow, water, rock, hills, mud. Seeing how well they do in conquering that environment. Especially if in a tough situation e.g. almost stuck or deep snow etc.
