What was your first mod?

Saw this in the 5th gen section, and I really hate it when groupy homers forget that there's a whole board to post on, so I'm reposting it here where everyone can play. So what was your first mod on your first 4Runner? Post pics if you've got 'em.

My first mod was in 2011, the Zukmod. I had to buy an angle grinder and learn how to use it to cut the rear bump stops, very scary stuff for a noob.

First mod was a set of 31" BFG A/Ts and some Rancho RS9000s back in 2000. Damn those homely groupies! :gossip:

My first mod was a defiant light bar and some PIAA lights from my old truck as well as a yakima rack with some bike carriers I knew I'd need, did both the day I got it.

My first mod was all in one shot when I got it. Running boards removed, the fog light mod, then the sirius install. Also put a sicker on the rear side windows, and a 4.88 rear gear.

If memory serves, first thing I did was purchase 06 LED tail lights. I often forget I did that.

First real mod to the 4R other than accessories was the independent fog light mod in early 2000. Was the first one to do that mod and was hooked after that.

First thing I did to the runner was the intake silencer removal and the deck plate mod......

Next was the ARB bumper, 231mm brake and TRD Tundra and OME 906 springs w/Billies.

All good now.

1989: 4Runner: Seat lifters from 4Crawler and Wet Okoles
2000: Debadge, clear corner lights, LED interior lights
2008: Cut Pink w/ Black and Black w/Red wires and spliced them together to thwart the annoying TPS light.

wow, first mod? that was a LONG time ago.

it was on my bone stock 85. I removed the running boards. huge change in how it looked.

Pulled the Pioneer DEH8400BT I had in my Tacoma and tossed it in the 4runner since the runner was going to be driven more and I needed the blue tooth capabilities off it. Glad I kept that stock Taco stereo all these years.

Within a month or two after buying my '02 I did these 3 mods over a weekend:

• Replaced stock headunit with an Alpine dual-DIN navigation headunit
• DRL bypass since I had the dash panels apart to run stereo-related wiring
• Foglights on w/parking lights or highballs BKA independent fog light mod

Lift and 3 ply tires. Before I moved to Utah I lived in Vegas and went shooting / 4Wheeling in the desert all the time. With the puny 265's, 2 ply tires on 17" rims, that were on there I was constantly puncturing my tires and bottoming out.

I bought a 2003 from my brother last July. It already had the front struts swapped with a 2011 Tacoma Offroad.

The first thing i did was change the tires to 275/65/17 Cooper Discover ATP and add Shrockworks bolt-on sliders.
