I currently have my new-to-me 1998 w/163K miles interior completely out "down to the studs" then hosed it out(a ridiculous amount of dirt, dust, & previous owner spunk, it was 90F here so it dried quickly), and am now insulating, soundproofing, and doing the sunroof cable thing; they are seized & all 4 drains were plugged with dirt & pine needles-owner left it open as the car was full too. Future plans are to weld up a set of Bandit Bumpers, roof rack, LED's, etc. While I have this apart what accessory wiring should I run while I have the chance ? Where do most people go through the firewall to the power source and where do they mount switches, and exit points for lights, etc. I tore it apart as soon as I got it so I don't have a good idea if the interior lights are lacking in any way. I will run power for the rear ashtray power supply mod and maybe a rear sub, just in case.
What other wires should I run while I have the chance ?
FYI; Vehicle bought from a tow yard lien sale for $1,500(DUI impound) & has all the typical stuff I have read on here; rear axle seal/bad bearing, seized sunroof cables(motor works though !), clogged drains, rear hatch window key is floating as are the license plate lights, and I'm sure plenty more I haven't found yet. The Jiffylube sticker in the window was 1,000 miles before the next change was due, I did a trans service and fluid looked pretty clean, pan was Permatexed on w/ no gasket so it may have been serviced ?? It came with new tires, new calipers, new rotors, new battery, new alternator so the guy did maintain it but was a crappy driver as both front & rear bumpers are hit and some grill work( hence the Bumper Bandits) and the interior was really grimey. I have all new suspension parts, shocks, bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints, external trans cooler, temp gauge, fuel pump, and just ordered a Scangauge so this has everything needed for a fun project ! More free time would help though. I have learned a ton on here and am now fairly confident doing these jobs myself.
