Coilover Lift + 33" Tires is preferred, but more likely you'll need the OME lift and 33"s to fit in your $2000 budget.

First, consider what your particular, primary usage of the truck is for, eg....Just a family car/back and forth to work, pulling a trailer, living in a heavy snow region, enjoying some sand dunes or rock crawlin' (or like mine, just a show piece with the "Ultimate Sub-Woofer System", an interstate hwy cruiser; which will NEVER see an off-road landscape).
Once this is established, you can make wise investments concerning your great truck!

Wait til Thanksgiving/black friday, Toytec usually does a sale that lasts only a couple hours.
But anyways.
~Toytec ultimate lift = $1,189. use forum discount (I think it knocks off like $60, so that covers shipping).
~Depending on what tires you want, lets just use Nitto Terra Grapplers for this example. Set of 4 through discounttiredirect.com will run you $868 shipped.
You could go cheaper and get the Falken Wildpeaks.
Its a little over $2k, but it can be done for that budget.

Exactly. JUST did exactly this (plus wheels).
Toytec Ultimate = $1,189
Whatever 285/65's = $800 - $1,000
(plus mounting, alignment, install of lift or DIY)
Just bought my TE three weeks ago. Already I've tinted windows all the way around, installed interior LEDs as well as the license plate, and added a D hitch shackle to the tow hitch. Cost so far = roughly $280. Next on my list are weathertech floor mats for the upcoming snowboard season. = $175 + shipping. That would make my spend cost at $455. A quarter of 2k! Lol. My budget is coming from parts sold from my previous car (2008 VW R32).

Yes true. I didn't buy anything last year cause I was out of the country, but my buddy with his 3rd gen did. I think its either 10 or 15% off. Forum discount is 5%.
That is what I did and am immensely pleased for it. A great $23 mod was replacing all the interior lights with LEDs Wow; huge difference.
I also replaced all the speakers, added a 12" subwoofer and amps. If you look, you can do all this (parts only) for right around $2k.

I would start with a roof basket (yakima loadwarrior with extension) to haul around extra stuff for camping/hunting, Bilsteins and maybe 265/70/17 Duratracs for that price point though I have different plans but I thought I'd put it in perspective.
Other things considered for less frequent offroad use: tinted visor and front windows, roof basket, hitch mounted bike rack, Wet Okole seat covers, sound deadening, and sound system upgrade. If you take out the sound system upgrade pretty much all of that can be had for about $2k, just a thought.
