Without more info any estimate would be pointless.

For starters, what shape is it in?

Any rust?

Your location?

And when was the Timing Belt last changed??

Things to know - rust, especially the frame, is these trucks worst enemy, check it thoroughly. Also, there is a service campaign on the steering relay rod, see if that's been done (also check to see if the Head Gasket campaign was really done, a dealer can tell you if you supply the VIN).

Without more info, I'd say anywhere from $500-3500.

What he said ^

Also, I think this year came as a 2 door or 4 door :)

Do those recalls count in canada too?

Ok your in Nor Cal so rust shouldn't be an issue. Will owner fix the exhaust or you? If you, adjust price accordingly.

Get answers to the other questions above and factor the answers in, esp timing belt, at 227K it should have recently had it's 3rd replacement (figuring every 70K mi), otherwise it's time now.

Bottom line, I'd try to get it for 1500 max, unless it's in better shape than it might be worth more. Just start low.

Thanks everyone for your inputs and thoughts!

I just went ahead and pulled the trigger on a 2000 4runner limited 4x4 AT v6, with 50k mileage for $7000, what does it mean when the Toyota and the limited emblems are in gold and not silver?

It means nothing more than just that your truck was equipped with the optional gold emblem package. Toyota was big on offering gold and black pearl emblem packages as options to those who didn't want the traditional chrome emblems.
