What’s a good way to get more clearance on the front bumper?

So I recently purchased a 2001 4 runner, and it has 33” tires with a 3” lift, the tires are pretty close to the front bumper.

What is a good way to get more clearance without spending $100’s of dollars.
I am a noob.

The lower portion is plastic and really easy to trim with a Dremel, die grinder, or even a serrated knife.

Agreed, trim the plastic, it's easy to cut.

You could just remove the entire plastic valence so you only have the metal part..

You shouldn't rub the bumper unless you have wide flares. At full lock I would rub the wide flare portion on the bumper. I just removed those, and the problem was solved.

If you start noticing it's rubbing on the other side next, others have had luck hammering down the pinch welds just a bit to get enough clearance. If you search "tire rubbing" in the forums there's a lot of helpful threads.

Definitely trim the plastic valence with a dremel or cutoff wheel! And like everyone else is saying, hammer back the pinch weld on the rearward side. Here is a pic of how I trimmed the valence, feel free to check out my build thread for more pics.
