Whats different on the 89?

I may get to look at an 89 for some parts. Mainly interested in cosmetics. Does most everything interchange?

Pretty much all cosmetics for the 4Runner are interchangeable from 84-89. The primary differences will be in the vehicle trim package ie: DLX vs SR5.

I have interior trim pieces in my 89 out of an 85, 86 & 88 - all SR5's. The main differences are in the drive-train - there are some differences in the 88 3.0 & 89 3.0 as well as a few variations of the transfer case.

hope that helps

I'M LOOKING FOR DOOR PANELS, KNICKKNACKS, anything I can use. Been reading the junkyard thread at yotatech and got the fever bad!

Scammed a lot of stuff on the 89. Some I will sell. Got some stuff in incredible shape. I would be interested in trading these for like condition SR5 manual window really nice panels. Switches not included but available. If I'm in the wrong forum let me know. I just know I don't frequent others areas here much.

Major beto...

I spent some cash but felt like I get stuff that is very hard to find in this condition. I'm interested in future build for me for my "lifetime vehicle" ride. So the parts accumulation and friends accumulation and information accumulation shall continue. I want to put cruise in Grayson's.

Going to try and restore the side 4runner plates like to other guy. Would like to trade for the 22re cruse parts. I have the part on the fender well but I believe there is a part the engine and cable I need. Is the 3.0 fender well part the same?

Never seen the rear heater but I have the whole shooting match and being an old fart I can see the advantages of the heat on my feet but undecided on keeping or selling.

If anyone is interested in the OEM power window motors and lock solinoids let me know. I'll have to go back and get them but I can do that. I saw new motors are 50-60 ave to pay 25 or 30m for these so I didn't know if it was worth it. PM me. Also I have a sunroof complete with inside cover.

If your talking about the side plates on the top I read here the clips that old them are one shot at the factory, looked kinda like rotten tywraps. Be careful with a trim tool, paint stirrer, beer opener....chose your weapon. Just pry easy and even and check your progress and don't bend too much to break. The clips will break and it will be yours. No access to the clips, collateral damage.Scared me too. Man those chrome outside door handles are making my mood! With Billy Currington and Annie Lennox.

Nice hunting! Love the sunroof cover and those door panels. Finding any Toyota in a yard around here with parts left on it is damn near impossible.
