What's going on here??

Hey guys - I am hoping someone can help explain to me what's going on here. I installed an OME lift with the Toytec Diff Drop about a week ago. I was under my 4R this weekend looking at my ABS sensor wires and I noticed this substance coming from one side of the CV boot. Notice, the two pictures are coming from the ground-up and the other picture shows that the CV boot that connects to the wheel is not leaking. Any help is appreciated!

The lift changes the angles and has caused your boots to leak. If they are not torn, since you caught it early, you can probably just put a new clamp on it. The links below should get you going in the right direction.

Since it is an 06, I wouldn't waste time trying to reclamp, you are on barrowed time with those boots. They are near the end of their expected life. Unless you are just strapped for cash, it would be better in the long run to fix it for the long haul.

I had this happen to me after I installed my lift, re-clamped them with hose clamps and that worked for a little while then one of my boots tore for good. But I've been driving on it for 6 months and can't even tell a difference. When it starts making noises or drives differently, I'll replace it but until then I don't see the point.

$48 for a whole new cv half shaft from RockAuto. Several guys on here, myself included are running these without issue. Most do some serious rock crawling and offroading and they have held up. Easier than replacing boots, and to cheap to not just replace and be done for many years to come.

I also replaced the OEM clamps with narrow hose clamps. Mine didn't start leaking until about a year after I lifted it.
