as someone else may have referred to, maybe its this reguarding ac function, i imagine the heating works similarly so thats why the computer defaults to recirc.. - The fastest way to cool the air inside the car is to turn on recirculating mode, so that's what the computer does. (That way, you're cooling air you've already attempted to cool , rather than pulling in fresh - but probably hot - air.) Once the inside cools to the desired temperature, and you didn't mess with the recirc button, then the computer will go back to outside fresh air. im guessing a winter example might be if you ever heated the inside then say its warm but stuffy & let some fresh air in, park, turn vec. off, come back in a hour or so forgetting that you left in on fresh air, start it up, the computer resets it to recirc. so that you are not blasted with cold outside air. i believe nowadays these newer systems want to do what they believe is best, not necessarily what you want.
