Now that I've realized the errors in my thinking, I have two 4Runners for sale above kbb/nada in my driveway.

2005 sport v6, 115,o00 miles, I'll let it go right now for $16,000
2007 limited v6 75,000 miles with nav, I'll let it go right now for $22,500

I understand the comments on pricing re: KBB/ Nada/ Edmunds, and on aftermarket parts generally not adding value. I'm not looking to recoup all $ spent on the vehicle. Many buyers won't want any changes from stock. This, however, is an enthusiast forum, and the market here may be different.

Also:

Kbb and nada are worthless, the market dictates the price.

Plenty of tacomas, 4runners etc sell for more every day.

Ryanmb21 is correct. The "Toyota tax" has some truth to it.

Like I've said a couple times, I'll part with the 4Runner at the right price. I don't need to sell it, not desperate, etc., but not emotionally tied to it either. Perfectly OK with holding on to it.

You just don't seem to have a grasp of the type of car you have. An "enthusiast forum" of NSX or Porsche owners is different from a suburban SUV/Toyota 4Runner forum. Posting up a "I will sell if I get the right price" thread on a common, everyday-car forum is a waste of time. There are PLENTY of 4 runners out there both in the private market and dealer market, no one is going to pay a premium for yours. It's not a rare car, plenty of supply so it's a buyer's market.

Your car means a lot to you, as is the case for every driver who cares about their car and takes care of it. But no offense, it's just not special, and you aren't likely to get any more than the mean/median values that NADA and KBB are a good approximation of.

Way to be mature about a discussion on toyota resale value... this thread was posted to solicit opinions and I gave mine, as did others... The OP has a good mentality about his 4Runner which I'm sure most of us here share... everyone wants to get top dollar if they're going to sell (otherwise we'll all hold on to them since it is a decent vehicle)... I just happen to believe top dollar is kbb/nada, that's all.
