What’s my 4Runner Worth?

Hi guys! I just wanted to hear your experienced thoughts on a price I could expect to see for my 4Runner. Please respond, the more people the better.

Here’s my specs:

2008 4th gen
Sport Edition
Black exterior
Black interior
Condition: 8/10 or better
All wheel drive
V8
93k miles
JBL sound system
Never smoked in
Never flooded or crashed
I’m the 2nd owner
No rust damage
Service history updated and no current problems

Mods:

Full Black weathertech Mats
spacers for 2” lift
Tinted front windows to match rear windows
Plastic dipped rims
Satoshi mod

(All mods can be easily removed or altered if I were to sell my 4Runner)

( I also have the rear cargo shelf, and cargo cover, and tube foot steps that aren’t installed)

I was thinking the same thing $10-12k. It's basically a stock V8 Sport Edition with low miles. GLWS

Just going to suggest a couple things that might deter, you've got a nice low mileage 4Runner plus the service history and your location though may net an enthusiast willing to pay up to around 14k + or - 2k.

"No rust damage" implies there may be rust lurking, so some buyers may find reason to nit-pick there; the 2” lift may also decrease the buyer pool.

I was just looking at a 94 or 96 on Craigslist and the pictures showed a trailer attached and got me to thinking of the wear and tear associated, you could also consider the presentation could also net or deter a buyer.

I see your in CO, some don't realise the how much the area effects price. In Oregon it would likely sell for between 13-17k. From visiting my sister in CO, it seems 4runners have about the same value as Oregon.

This may be off topic to some, but...

Just looking at service history's on some 5th gens, the record look like some are going 10 to 16k between oil changes, though these records may not be complete, I am going to have trouble buying vehicles with so many miles between oil changes. And we're talking $23k and up for these.

My 2005, 294k had a service history showing fairly consistent oil changes at 6k, though there is one gap at 10k, that may be an unreported one and before 2013 isn't as much reported, because otherwise it was a 2 owner, first being "TITLED OR REGISTERED AS A RENTAL VEHICLE, OR PART OF A RENTAL FLEET". But something I didn't realize up to mid 2007 it had been in the rust belt, the 30,000 mile service was done at the Fort Wayne, IN. Toyota Lexus Kia Dealer. Otherwise a New Mexico location, so I'll have to look for more evidence of rust to fight.

These days its about finding the right buyer too...

In CA, its amazing what some of these manual transmission or 4x4 Tacomas and 4Runners can sell for.

Nothing KBB is accurate for Toyota, and anything selling for KBB sells almost instantly and is considered a steal.

If it were back to stock (no lift, stock grill, peal the plasti dip, etc) it would be worth $14k-$16k around here with no rust. Low mileage late model 4th gens go for premium money around here and sell quickly!

That is EASILY a $16-17k 4R in the Bay Area, CA. Maybe even $18k. You laugh, but I paid $15k for mine with 125K and 2 owners. Had 3 offers the day he put it up on CL. And being he is CO, I bet he can get $16K easy. Best thing to do would be to price it high and go from there. It's a V8 which makes it a big plus.

If you removed all the mods and plastic dip, I would agree with around $16k with that mileage if the condition is as good as you say. I would know, shopped all of Cali for about a month and a half until I found my 06 V8 Sport recently.

List for 16 and sell for 15. Ignore MMR and book values. I've been buying cars a long time. Some makes/models just don't fall under a given value on paper. The demand for this body style far outweighs a 10 grand price point. People would be fighting and dueling in your yard if you listed for 10,000. Wouldn't worry too much about the mods unless they are easy to remove and get you $$ back. Like the weather techs, I'll take the front mats from you!
