My 04' V8 Sport 4wd specs are as follows (I think):
GVWR: 5,710
Curb Weight: 4,515 (includes full gas tank, but no driver or passengers)
Door sticker: "Weight of cargo and occupants should never exceed 950"
I'm confused. According to the door sticker, the payload is 950. But according to how payload is 'normally' calculated (GVWR - curb weight = payload) the payload is 1,195 (5,710 - 4,515). Where did the missing 245 pounds go (1,195 - 950)?
FYI it's 'generally assumed' that curb weight includes a 150lb driver. But nothing in the owner's manual says this is true. So I think the driver weight counts against payload for the 4Runner.
