What's that noise?

So, it was time to rotate tires and grease the drive lines and suspension. While doing so, I manages to figure out "What that noise" was. All three of them.

1). Squeeking while turning
2). Clunck when shifting into drive and reverse
3). A dud dud dud while flexing

So, who wants to take a guess on WTF those noises were from?

Same symptoms that I had a couple of months back. Ended up being the muffler bearings.

1). Squeeking while turning - Haha, freshly washed truck with clean tires turning on the smooth concrete floor of the garage. :becky:
2). Clunck when shifting into drive and reverse - This one had been bothering me for a bit and actually was a two part one. After reading some posts on here before, I though it could be a loose jam nut at Johnny Joint on the lower link. Checked the all and they are tight (should still put a tack weld on them for good measure). So, while loosening the bolts for the rear links in order to grease them, I found that frame side bolt on the lower link was a tad loose, enough to where you could tell the bolt had been thrusting back and forth. Then while going to loosen the axle side upper link, I found the nut was not even tight. The lesson, if you have after market suspension components, be sure to include checking all of the nuts and bolts on a regular interval.
3). A dud dud dud while flexing - This I discovered by pure chance. While on the trail and hearing this sound, I have stopped to look and figured it to be the treads hitting the fender liner that covers the fuel filler hose. Yeah, that is not it after all. While compressing one side of the rear suspension to get access to the zerk fitting on the axle side lower link,
I happened to look at the rear drive shaft and noticed it was making contact with the fuel tank skid. This is after I had already modified the skid one. Crawling under there, there is way more contact than I thought. Guess I have a new project for this winter.

Same here...on mine I noticed marks in the aluminum fuel skid where my drive shaft has done some "self clearing" to make itself some room. Fix is to adjust my adjustable panhard a tad more to passenger side...maybe about an 1/8" would do it.

I'm having a similar clunk in the rear on take-off. What did you torque your frame side nut/bolt to on your MT lower links?

96 ft-lb for both ends of the rear lower links and both ends of the panhard. 59 ft-lb for the upper rear links.
