Hopefully my Runner lasts for many years, but I am considering buying a 5th gen after they get the bugs out in a few years, hoping they don't mess it up like the Highlanders/Sequoias of course.

Uneek said:dingo,
You and I are probably among the few that in our teens we wanted a 4Runner. My friend was always saying don't know why you don't want a sportscar. I didn't mind a MR-2 turbo or Supra, but I'm a practical kind of a person and I rather have a sport sedan over a coupe.

peter78 said:I seem to sell them around 17 years or 250,000 miles. I guess I am an extreme example though. My last car was sold at 15 years, the one before it was 19 years. Cars seem to be getting better, so I might go longer.

josh220 said:Have you seen the countless teens on this forum that wanted a 4runner? We aren't uncommon.
Uneek said:Countless? I never said dingo AND I are the only two. A product specific forum isn't a good indication of the general public. Teens that desire a SUV are a small minority. When I drive by my HS and the others in my area and of all the vehicles that lined the street where there normally aren't any, SUVs were far and few.
josh220 said:And unfortunately, a product specific forum is an ideal place, considering you said 4Runner, not SUV's. We are getting off topic by bringing up the "general population" aren't we?
Uneek said:Of the 20k+ members we have here, I doubt 1% of them are teens, far cry from countless.
