What's the best mod you've done to your 4th Gen????

I have loved everything I have done, especially the sound system upgrades, interior LED swap, and tires, but the Magnaflow Cat-back system is the best mod.

Next on my list is a Cornfed 2/1 lift.

I noticed slightly increased throttle response along with a minor mpg boost.

Basically you are eliminating a significant intake restriction that was put in place by some tree hugger.

There's a dyno out on the tacoma boards. 0 HP gain on the V6. minor gain on the 4 cylinder.

Yeah I wouldnt think it would increase PEAK HP but there is definitely some power gained at tip-in-throttle and some midrange. It wasn't like a night and day difference but it was noticeable. I'd guess the V8 probably respond best to the increased airflow but I dont know for sure.

Its the same idea as replacing a paper air filter with a less restrictive K&N or similar. With this stupid thing in place you are practically running 2 air filters.

When you yank this and have a good look at it, its pretty obvious you have just removed a fairly significant intake restriction.

Same deal as the 2005+ Ford Mustang GTs, they have a similar charcoal filter which most owners promptly chuck in the garbage for increased airflow.

-Bilstein 5100 front lift (using the FJ and Tacoma part # and on the 2nd ring for about a 1.7" lift just to even out vehicle.
-SpiderTrax wheel spacers
-Debadging all name decals

For performance/benefits:
-Hydrocarbon delete - Toyota 4Runner Hydrocarbon filter removal for a very slight improvement in low and mid-range acceleration. I also like the slight increase in engine gargling noise when accelerating
-60% Ceramic Tint on front windshield
-Firestone Ride Rite for towing
-DDM Tuning HID 55W 5000k driving lights and 35W 3000k fog lights - Fog lights requires HID kit wiring harness to work. I also used it on the driving lights but not needed.
-Fram with Arm & Hammer in-cabin air filter
-WeatherTech floor mats
-Okole seat covers

1) 4300 HIDs to the lows and fogs (such an improvement in visibility). Looks yellow in the picture due to the camera but they are white in person.

2) Tinting the front two windows 30% to match the rears (Looks mean and UV protection) 2nd Pic:

I yanked the back seat so the rear is totaly flat. Let's this 6 footer sleep great. It also gives more storage room behind the seat and gives you super lumbar.

of all the crap I've done, by far my fav mod is the weather tech mats!! BECAUSE I NEVER HAVE TO VACUUM!!!!
but touchscreen gps and level kit is a toss up for 2nd place... lol
least favorite... MPG post wheel/tire combo!! unLOL

I don't know that it's the "best" mod I've done but I just recently added the little stick-on convex mirrors to my side view mirrors and now I NEVER have a problem with missing something that's in my blind spot. Also, you can see the ground contact point of the rear tires in the convex mirrors which makes it INCREDIBLY easy to back into parkings spots and down driveways, LOVE THEM!!

Where on the mirror did you stick these? Bottom, outside corner?

Precisely! I don't have any pics, but it's essentially the bottom outside corners.
