What's the deal with the replacement scooped hoods?

Okay, being the tinkering new owner of a '99 model that I'm messing around with, I couldn't help but be attracted to adding a scooped hood instead of the dinged up standard one on the truck now. Noticed a LOT of sellers on Ebay have the scooped hood for a good price, but NOBODY has the insert that goes into the hood scoop.

Is the hood scoop insert hard to find or does anybody make this assembly? Truck's black, so the factory style scoop hood would add a lot to it's personality, but I just find it odd that the scoop insert assembly seems to be a non-existent part on the web. What's the deal with that?

Its either the above find, the toyota dealership, or you happen to find a dustpan that will fit.

There is more to it than just the hood and insert. The scoop insert is the priciest part if you buy it new. Those hoods on ebay are not OEM. They are non OEM DOT approved replacements. However, they work just as well as the real deal at a fraction of the cost. I don't know if there is a Certifit local to you but if there is you can get the hood even cheaper than on ebay. Regardless, you will have to get it painted to match as they all come primered only.
