Consider the BFG A/T KO.

So for someone like me that drives in alot of snow in the winter and hits the trails the rest of the year the Revo's would be a good buy. Would this still be true if I went with something in the size of like 33" or 285 which ever the way they are messured? But what about a tire that does good in serious mud and really deep snow? We get 300"+ and we have alot of muddy logging trails. Should I look into something from Nitto or Toyo?
The BFG are highly rated for snow traction and lasts a long time. In fact, the BFG has the "snowflake in the mountain" symbol for meeting or exceeding the RMA standards as severe weather sue. Some states like Oregon recognizes the RMA symbol and allow you to pass when conditions are more severe than just chains.
I have not heard anything abd about Nittos and they are cheaper too. They run about $103 for 265/70/17. Chekc out the thread where one of our boys put on Nittos on his 18" wheels. Sharp!
The tread pattern is very similar to Toyo Open Country. SOme have said that Toyo makes the the Nitto....I have no solid facts for that. I have the Toyo on my Tahoe and it works well in dry and slush and wet. I see lots of folks use Toyos up here and they make a quality tire. I just don't see enough reports on long term wear on Nittos to know or have enough confidence how it will do in wet, snow, slush, and wear lifespan. How will it do in trails? How will it do in rocks? Dry shale? sandstone? There is a reason why BFG is the #1 tire for off roaders--both mud and A/T.
However, if you have a lot of deep snow, mudders are supposed to be better. The downside is muds lose to the A/T when you drive on or near road surface. The lack of siping and overly aggressive paddles don't work as well.
Right now, BFG is the only one offering LT C load for 265/70/17.
Toyo offers in P load nad LT in E. ONe extreme to another. NItto does not offer anything but P load. Revo is supposed to come out with an LT in the fall, but in E load. That leaves BFG as the only one with an LT C load...if you don't consider some Coopers or LEs Schwab tires that do come in C load....
Check ouf the tread carcass and sidewall plies. BFG has 5 plies on the tread and 3 plies on the sidwewall--in a C load! Toyo has 5 plies (2 poly, 1 nylon, and 2 steel) but only 2 on the sidewall. I think Revos has the same 5 and 2 construction.
I don't think you can go wrong with any of the above. You have to accetp some trade offs from one to another.
